Sunday November 24th Freshkills Park ,  The Staten island Trail Riders and NYCMTB brought forth The Great gobbler 2024.

This race was hosted on land that was once the Largest Landfill in the world. Now enroute to become New York City’s newest and Largest park. Dwarfing the current title holder , New Yorks CENTRAL PARK. We were greeted by high winds and gusts but the weather did not break the spirit of our riders and racers. The racers were shown 13 miles , of this beautiful park which overlooks many towns on Staten Island as well gives a clear view of NEW YORK CITY and surround bridges like , The Bayonne, Goethals and Verrazano Bridges . of these 13 miles 5 were additions to last years race and included a section of singletrack.

Racers were surprised but welcomed the challenge .
